What is palmer stadium?

Palmer Stadium was a stadium located in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. It served as the home field for the Princeton University football team from 1914 to 1997. It was named after Edgar Allan Palmer, a Princeton trustee and former football player. The stadium had a seating capacity of 45,750, making it one of the larger college stadiums in the United States at the time of its construction. Over the years, it hosted numerous college football games, including the first ever Ivy League football game in 1956. It was also the site of the 1962 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the United States and Mexico, where the United States clinched its first World Cup berth. The stadium was demolished in 1998 and replaced by a new stadium, also named Princeton Stadium, which opened in 1998.
